Slim stomach it is not a dream: with cosmetic surgery it is a great reality.
It is possible to get a nice stomach with cosmetic surgery (in Finnish - plastiikkakirurgia) by acting on three levels: skin, fat and muscle. The principles for intervention mean removing the excess fat under the skin, removing the excess skin obtained during pregnancy or due to the yo-yo diets, and tighten the abdominal muscles. There are two procedures to get a slim stomach in cosmetic surgery: abdominoplasty or liposuction whose indications will depend on the current state of belly. Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck or restorative surgery of the stomach) is a nice option to the patients with significant excess skin on the abdomen and a bad muscle tone.
Liposuction is the most complete intervention but also the heaviest. It removes the excess fat, but after it many people need also tighten the abdominal muscles and remove excess skin between the navel and the pubis. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of a tummy tuck surgically (vatsan muotoilu)? Abdominoplasty provides the stomach as slim as possible. However, after such intervention patient will have a large scar in the pubis (but situated low then trousers). Convalescence duration consist two-four weeks. Before operation doctor must talk with patient about all risks this procedure. For example, after such intervention he can get one of these problems - phlebitis or pulmonary embolism.
Abdominal liposuction is destiny of the patient with little excess skin (no abdominal apron), a big amount of fat under the skin and a moderate muscle relaxation. This is the simplest intervention but less full. It removes fat situated between the skin and abdominal muscles. It addresses the excess skin moderately (by retraction of it after liposuction) and finally, it does not address the entire abdominal muscle relaxation. So what are the advantages and disadvantages of abdominal liposuction? The main advantages are the absence of scars (these marks are 3 mm in length and become almost invisible after some time).
Liposuction demands minimal operating risks and convalescent duration of a few days up to one week. However, the disadvantages of liposuction are the limit of a less effective result than abdominoplasty. Men and women are not equal in weight gain. Women usually have uniform distribution of fat on the body or it located on the thighs. Man's fat mainly focuses on the waist, abdomen and chest. As such, liposuction provides remarkable results on man body, but for woman it can be very effective too.
